MINI, Faith Of A Few
Daniel Wolfe
A film to silence the critics – Daniel takes us back to arguably the most pivotal moment in MINI’s history: the 1964 Monte Carlo Rally.
The MINI Cooper – a car ergonomically designed to consume much less fuel, and a symbol of the 60s’ air of independence and spontaneity – wouldn’t have seemed like a car fit for the racetrack. In fact, its entry to the Monte Carlo Rally landed much criticism on the name of John Hooper – the godfather of the MINI. However, what little had known, was that this compact car inadvertently had its own power on the course. ‘Faith of a Few’ is a brand history film retelling of that fateful day, that changed the course of the brands trajectory completely. To transport the viewer to that very day, Daniel designed the film to not only take on the fashions and style of the 60s, but also flyover trends from past decades. With the use of modern film equipment, a film that seems almost entirely archival becomes a modern day car commercial.
