Bella Palanka
Johanna Bentz
This is the story of Emrah, a young man who grew up in Germany with Serbian parents
Now a convicted repeat offender, he no longer qualifies for German citizenship and has been deported to Serbia. He lives in a former luxury hotel in the middle of nowhere, close to the border, where those who are deported from Germany find shelter after they have been deported. Bela Palanka takes the stranded and the lost. Emrah is a 28-year-old Rom. He spent almost all his life in Germany but never had a German passport. After committing several crimes, he was deported to his "home country" of Serbia. How could this happen? Emrah risks telling his story, bringing his crucial moments to the "stage". A film about the unbreakable power of life and new beginnings.
