The Weiland Brothers are a UK-based directing duo known for their character-driven storytelling, sharp comedic sensibility, and their ability to capture humanity in everyday moments. Joe Weiland, a BAFTA-nominated writer/director, gained acclaim for his debut film Gorka, which was nominated for a BAFTA for Best Short Film, and his follow-up, Marion, premiered at the Venice Film Festival before screening at TIFF. Max Weiland directed Elton John’s Tiny Dancer, which premiered at Cannes, and has helmed commercials for major brands like Google, McDonald’s and Samsung. Both brothers are recipients of the prestigious Young Director Award at Cannes, with Max’s short An Arm’s Length also premiering at SXSW. Together, they bring a distinct voice to contemporary filmmaking.
