Floyd Russ is a film, commercial, and music video director who focuses on the emotional truth in his work. He grew up in Germany and Los Angeles, the latter of which being where he discovered his love for film. Floyd’s dedication to detail is based on his past experiences as an editor, cinematographer, and producer. Recently, his stylistic biopic ZION won two Emmys after it premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival, where it was acquired by NETFLIX and shortlisted for the 2019 Academy Awards for Best Documentary, Short Subject.
In 2017, Floyd’s spot for Love Has No Labels, “Love Cam,” was nominated for an Emmy for Best Commercial. His commercials have won Titanium, Glass, and Film Lions, several Clios and AICP awards, and many others. Floyd‘s work has also spurred debates on CNN, FOX, NBC, MSNBC, and the Today Show, as well as been featured on outlets like TIME, HUFF POST, and NY TIMES, amongst others.
